A complete Linux environment online
Hosted projects provide a Linux environment. CoCalc Basic includes Ubuntu tools such as bash, Git, curl, and Python; other images can provide different packages and package managers.
On images with sudo enabled, passwordless sudo installs packages inside the project container, not on its host machine. Installs in persistent home or writable system storage survive normal restarts and are included in project backups and moves.
