Use the projects page
Find, open, create, and organize the CoCalc projects you can access.
What the Projects page is for
The Projects page lists the CoCalc projects you can access. Use it to open recent work, create projects, search, inspect activity, and manage the projects that back your courses, research, classes, and agent workspaces.
Find a project or file
Use Search for projects to find a project by name. The separate Search for filenames you edited... field searches recent file activity, not all files or their contents. Results can be incomplete when a project host is unavailable or a search request fails; an empty result does not prove that a file is missing. Open the project and use Files and search when you need to inspect its files or search their contents.
Organize projects and choose a lifecycle action
Use clear project names and descriptions. Hide Project changes only your own project list; it does not remove collaborator access or stop the runtime. Turn on the Hidden filter to find hidden projects, then use Unhide Project to return one to your normal list.
Other actions have different effects. Check the selected projects and the confirmation before proceeding:

| Stop | Stops the project runtime and its processes while keeping project files. Save work and checkpoint computations first. |
| Archive | Uses a backup for later restoration and removes the active host copy and filesystem snapshots. A running project may be stopped first; published file shares are unavailable until the project is restored. |
| Remove Myself as Collaborator | Leaves a project you do not own without deleting it for the remaining members. |
| Delete Project | Permanently deletes a project you own. Preserve critical results independently before confirming. |
Archive checks whether a backup is needed. If the host is unavailable, CoCalc may offer to use the latest existing backup and warn that newer edits can be lost. Read that warning; do not assume that archiving always creates a final backup. Starting an archived project restores its files from a backup and can take longer than starting a stopped project.
Selecting project checkboxes reveals bulk actions. Leave or Delete... can transfer an owned project to its most recently active collaborator and remove you, or permanently delete an owned project with no eligible collaborator. Viewers are not eligible ownership-transfer recipients. Review the separate transfer, leave, and delete groups before confirming. Available actions depend on your project role and permissions.
